1st Cambridge (Orchard Park) opened its doors in November 2012 with just 10 beaver scouts; by 2014 the beavers section was booming and our Cub Scout section was opened. Fast forward to 2017, Beavers and Cubs are thriving and the Scout section is launched.

1st Cambridge is well known in the local community and is often seen out and about working with the community especially during our annual litter pick and tree planting sessions and having fun exploring the area.

The beaver section enjoys a varied programme which includes a wide range of activities such as Pond dipping, gardening, cooking on fire and of course camping. Yearly fun days are highly anticipated offering the chance to try many adventurous activities all in one day, previous events have included climbing, rafting and grass sledging.

The cub section can often be found, gathered around a fire, up a climbing wall or enjoying their latest pioneering project. Cub camp always has a high turnout and is enjoyed by all. Cubs particularly like joining the annual mystery trip, a trip where only the leaders know the destination.

Meanwhile the scout section enjoys learning survivalist skills such as advanced navigating, first aid and of course fires, as well as expeditions, hikes and rafting and they never pass up an opportunity to get into the outdoors and have fun.

Our annual calendar includes group camp, an opportunity for all three sections of the group to work together and for the younger sections to see what the older sections get up to!
