DESCRIPTION:All Patrols from Scout Troops in Cambridge District are invited to a night hike competition\, putting all your navigation and problem-solving skills to the test.  \nWe would like to invite entries from all Troops in Cambridge District again to take part in this year’s competition. \nThe hike will take place between 4pm and midnight. Teams of between 4 and 7 Scouts will follow a 10km route with various problem-solving activities to complete on the way and earnpoints for navigation\, teamwork\, skills and leadership. DESCRIPTION:The annual District Archery Competition day is back\, giving every cub\, scout\, explorer and leader the chance to have a go at archery. Everyone from complete beginners up to county archery andnational youth pathway archers are welcome. Bows\, arrows and safety kit will be provided but those who have their own are welcome to bring it. The best pack\, troop and unit are in the running for a small trophy.Leaders are welcome to have a go too and they compete individually. \nThe event runs from 10am to 4pm on Sunday the 15th of October at the 12th Cambridge up a lane on Gilbert Road\, CB4 3PE. Please let us know the roughest of ideas of when you might like to come during the day and what sort of numbers you estimate might come from your section or group so we can plan things like squash and biscuits.

SUMMARY:Young Leaders’ Online Training Course Module A – Prepare for Take-off!
DESCRIPTION:The training course is for Explorer Scout Young Leaders\, prospective Young Leaders and DofE volunteers to cover Module A: Prepare for Take-off! If you are between 13.5 and inc 17 and already are or are considering becoming a Young Leader you need to take this course. \nModule A aims to give you the essential information you will need to perform your ESYL role safely. \nThe course will be presented via Zoom in accordance to Scout HQ safety guidance. \nhttps://www.scouts.org.uk/volunteers/scouts-at-home/taking-scouts-online/staying-safe-online/ \nThere will always be two adults on the training team in the online conference room to ensure safeguarding with password protection to enter the conference\, to ensure we are keeping young people safe. The course will be 2 hours long with a short interval. We will be running the course on the 13 Sep 2023 between 7pm and 9pm. The course online is interactive\, and theory based for which we highly recommend a minimum of a PC/laptop or tablet is used with a working camera\, speaker or headphones\, mic or headphones with a built-in mic. \nOnce this course is completed\, a YLs Logbook and information cards in a pack will be sent to all of those who attended\, along with the YL badge.
