| Help to promote Scouting at the Big Weekend in Cambridge on 9th and 10th July 2005 | 15th June, 2005 |
Cambridge City Council Big Weekend
Parkers Piece, Cambridge
Saturday and Sunday 9th and 10th July 2005
We will be promoting Cambridge Scouting at the City Council's Big Day Out on Parkers Piece in July and will have a display to support this.
Last year, you may recall we were lucky to secure the Scout Association Mobile Display Unit. This year we are not so fortunate but none the less I am know that we can put on a positive display for Cambridge Scouting worthy of a major public event such as the Big Day Out.
I am confident that promoting Scouting in this way will help in our continual push for new adult volunteers and attract young members to join our sections. Last year we recruited over 20 young members and 2 adult volunteers to Cambridge and surrounding Scout Districts directly from the Parkers Piece event. There were 60 plus enquiries during the weekend.
I am now looking for volunteers to help man the Cambridge Scouting Display over the weekend of 9th and 10th July. This will be in morning, afternoon and evening slots from 11.00am to 6.00pm on the Saturday and 11.00am to 8.00pm on Sunday. If you would like to help please let me know by return (dc@cambridgescouts.org.uk) or contact me if you would like to find out more.
This is a really good PR opportunity for Cambridge Scouting and I hope that you will find time to support the event.
Yours in Scouting
Chris Ward
