We are looking for adult volunteers to work with the Beaver, Cub, Scout and Explorer Scout age range in Cambridge City and the surrounding villages.

Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts in the area enjoy a thriving programme and we are looking for enthusiastic adults who would like to develop this further. Cambridge is a large city and there is a huge demand for scouting throughout.

From as little as 30 minutes to 3 hours per week, volunteers make a huge difference to the sorts of activities scouting offers youngsters from all social backgrounds. With more adult volunteers we can offer more places to Cambridge youngsters and provide an even greater variety of activities, so if you live or work locally and would like to put something back into your community then please get in touch.

There are volunteer opportunities in Scouting as a Leader, Assistant Leader, Administrator or Supporter. Whatever the role, extensive training and support is available.

I was very saddened to hear today of the untimley death of Cambridge scouter, Mark Sewell.

Scouts and Explorer Scouts from Cambridge are enjoying the Eurojam experience. The European Scout Jamboree is taking place in the UK and runs until 10th August 2005.

Scouts from Cambridge attending Eurojam this Summer have received a financial boost from the Cambridge University Rag Appeal at a special presentation for members of the Cambridge Community Volunteer Service.

We will be promoting Cambridge Scouting at the City Council's Big Day Out on Parkers Piece in July and will have a display to support this.

Nominations are currently sought for the position of District Commissioner for Cambridge Scouting. The closing date is 11th June 2005.
