Scouts Recycling Appeal

Over 1,300 Scout Groups have shared in an £80,000 Scouting recycling programme. In which they can exchange used printer cartridges and old mobile phones for cash. Friends, family, neighbours and local businesses and organisations will be happy to help you collect these items for recycling.
Registration is free
Participation is free
Cartridge collection kits are free
There is a free welcome pack
And courier collections are free.
British households throw away over 30 million used toner and inkjet cartridges every single year.
Dumped cartridges and mobiles have an aggregate value of over £90 million. Throwing them away is like throwing away money!
Binned cartridges contribute over 300,000 tonnes of solid waste in overfilled landfill dumps. By recycling now you can do your bit to save the planet.

The scheme is endorsed by the Scout Association. If you would like to register for the scheme or find out more then go to www.scoutsappeal.com

An explanation of the need and purpose of the project
How much will the project cost (this needs to be itemised)

Time is running out to register for this new fundraising scheme! The launch is in September and it offers a simple way to fundraise for your Scout Group.
"Scouts Plus" is based on Voucher Books full of money-saving offers from High Street stores and brands like Marks and Spencer, W.H.Smith, Iceland, Burger King, etc, which parents, and family members, can buy from participating Groups.
For every book sold the Group will raise £5.00 to spend on whatever it wants; equipment, trips, running costs, etc. If your Group sells 30 books it will raise £150!

Books cost £10.00 and contain savings of over £500 on items such as everyday shopping, days out and household goods. With the "Outdoors" stores offering 20% off Scout sweatshirts, waterproof jackets and activity trousers and with £5.00 off the Scout rucksack, a parent could recover their £10.00 in one shop!

Therefore, a leaflet has been produced that includes information about how to include a bequest to a Scout Group, District, County or The Scout Association, when writing a will. This leaflet is available from the Fundraising & Sponsorship Department. It is also available PDF format.
